Two Detained After Butler Man Is Struck & Killed

BUTLER (KDKA) ― A bicyclist was killed Friday evening when authorities say he was struck by a vehicle near his home in Butler County.

It happened after 10:30 p.m. in the 300-block of Zeigler Avenue.

Butler City Police have identified the victim as 21-year-old Jayson Cramer.

According to investigators, officers located the car involved a short time later on Protzman Road just south of Portman Road. It was reportedly heavily damaged and the bike was still wedged underneath.

Authorities say a witness reported seeing a man and woman walking away from the vehicle.

Police say they located the man, identified as 29-year-old Patrick Duncan, as he was walking on Portman Road. And the woman, who was not identified by police, was found at her home and detained.

The investigation into the incident continues.

Meanwhile, Duncan is being held in the Butler County Jail on an outstanding bench warrant.
