Many Stores Continuing Holiday Sales
ARVADA, Colo. (CBS) ―
The holidays may be over but the sales around the holidays are still lingering in many stores, especially as some struggle to stay open.
Shops like the Rheinlander Bakery in Old Town Arvada, Colo. have found a niche creating unique items that people can't buy at big box retailers. But one thing the shop has changed lately is its prices. It used to have many items that ranged in price from $20 to $50. Now it's focusing on creating goods in the $10 to $20 range because people aren't willing to spend as much as they did in the past.
Stores all over the Denver metro area are displaying signs advertising specials on products or services to try and stay in line with the economic times.
"So what we found is a lot of people did indeed cut their overall budget and our big thing was to meet that budget," said Ed dimmer, Rheinlander Bakery Owner. "So we had a lot of fun; little cakes as well as some larger ones. So we started with cakes that would serve two people."
People who shop around looking for bargains say that car lots are also offering good deals on vehicles.
Many businesses are also doing more negotiating when it comes to prices.
