Owners of the financially-troubled Hilton Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh met with city leaders about the stalled construction.
Over the course of an hour-long meeting, Shuhb Group President Atul Bisaria assured Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and county officials that debts would be paid and work would resume.
The city in turn laid out deadlines to hold the owners feet to the fire, saying they want the work completed by the G20 or at least the installation of some decorative façade or mural to cover the skeletal eyesore.
"That discussion took place. We're confident that those deadlines will be met and we'll be able to resolve the issue before September," Ravenstahl, D-Pittsburgh, said.
The city revoked the building permit when the project's unpaid architect pulled his plans. Ravenstahl says he wants all creditors paid and work to resume by next week or more fines will be leveled.
Bisaria said he has secured outside investors who will satisfy all concerns.
"They'll bring in additional capital and take care of finishing the project," Bisaria said.
The Hilton believes it will be satisfying their debts by next week and that's when work will resume.
