Paul Martino
Paul joined KDKA-TV in 1984 as a general assignment reporter and became Bureau Chief in Westmoreland County. He co-anchors KDKA-TV's Saturday morning news with Brenda Waters and reports during the week.
The "You Paid For It" series on "Perks for State Lawmakers" won a Golden Quill award in 1996. Paul has always been on top of the area's political scene.
Also a sports enthusiast, Paul has covered the Pittsburgh Pirates throughout their history and reported on the success of the Pittsburgh Penguins while traveling to Minnesota and Chicago for the Stanley Cup Championship.
The Wall Street Journal and local newspapers have referred to Paul as the "Sam Donaldson" of Pittsburgh. As a reporter for WKRG-TV in Mobile, Alabama, he received the Press Club Award in 1981 for Outstanding Professionalism for his coverage of a hostage situation involving Mobile's mayor. In 1982, Paul received an award from the Associated Press (AP) for Best Documentary. This documentary covered Governor George Wallace's return for a fourth term in office after overcoming partial paralysis and a history of racism. Paul went on to win another Associated Press Award in 1983 for his coverage of an execution. In 1987, he received the Golden Quill Award for his investigative reporting of a police chief's unethical practices.
Paul spends most of his free time in the community. He plays the keyboard for his band, "The Mystic Knights" for several charity events. Paul is also the president of the local chapter of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
Paul earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-Television from Southern Illinois University. Paul resides in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh and has three children.
