Jory Rand

Jory Rand joined KDKA-TV in January 2008 as KDKA's Weekend Sports Anchor, though you can see him throughout the week reporting on all of Pittsburgh's local teams.

His career in broadcasting began not too far away, at NBC25 in Hagerstown, Md., where he spent a good amount of time covering the Steelers andĀ Penguins -- as well as Pitt and WVU.

A native of Columbia, Md., Jory grew up watching and playing hockey, and was a 2-time All-Conference player at the University of Maryland, winning 2 ACC Championships along the way. In fact, the first goal of his college career came right here in Western Pennsylvania against Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

His last job was with FOX Richmond in Richmond, Va., and he'sĀ ecstatic to now call Pittsburgh home and have the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates to cover year-round.

In his free time, Jory likes to get on the ice as much as possible, check out all the running trails along the Mon with his wife Joeanna, and you'll probably catch him at PNC Park or Mellon Arena on game days, even if he's not working that day.

If you have a good idea for a story or would just like to talk some sports you can contact Jory at jrand@kdka.com
