Traffic

Jim Lokay

Jim Lokay is KDKA's Traffic and Transportation Reporter.  During the morning, he brings you "Real Time Traffic"on the KDKA-TV Morning News and the KDKA-TV Morning News on Pittsburgh's CW.  He also files regular reports on everything from road construction to mass transit to airport delays, which air on KDKA-TV News at 4, 5, and 6.  From time to time, he appears on KDKA's "Pittsburgh Today Live" and fills in on the anchor desk.

A native of East McKeesport, he started his career as a news anchor and traffic reporter for several Pittsburgh radio stations, including Y-108, Star 100.7, and 1360 WPTT.  After a few years behind the mic, he moved in front of the camera as a reporter and anchor at a regional news network in upstate New York.

During his time there, he profiled members of the North East Air Defense Sector who tracked United Flight 93 on September 11, 2001.  His story on a young boy who was saved by an automatic defibrillator inspired many in his community to learn how to use the devices.  But his most memorable interview?  Game show legend Bob Eubanks.

He is a proud alumnus of California University of Pennsylvania, where he won two Telly awards for reports on the progress of the Mon-Fayette Expressway.  He now serves on the school's Student Assocation Board of Directors, and is involved with several local charities, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and The American Liver Foundation.

In his free time, Jim likes to road trip, is a die-hard Pirates fan, spoils his German Shepherd named Cheyenne, and is now trying to conquer his hatred of golf.

He is always happy to help out drivers in need, so if you have a question about roadwork or need a good way around town, drop him an email at  jlokay@kdka.com.
