Researchers Name Best Gadgets For Cars
(KDKA)
A car isn't just a way to get around anymore. Car makers are now loading their newest models with gadgets and gizmos that make driving easier.
Each year, the Consumer Reports auto-testing staff tests 55 or more cars to see which are the best in terms of performance, safety and reliability.
And while they're conducting those tests they also look for the latest features that they believe are especially well-designed and helpful.
Now, Consumer Reports is listing some of the best gadgets they tested.
Experts say a navigation system comes in handy while in the car.
Also, an automatic rear-hatch door that opens at the touch of a button is recommended because it's really convenient when carrying a heavy load.
Experts also say keyless ignition can be a big help because you can leave keys in your pocket and start the car with the touch of a button.
Testers say stereo controls on the steering wheel let drivers keep their eyes on the road while finding the perfect song.
Testers also say a DVD player on long trips can keep everyone happy until you reach your destination.
Some of the other convenience features Consumer Reports testers also like are rain-sensing windshield wipers, outside temperature displays, and cars that keep circulating warm air in for up to 30 minutes even when it's turned off.
