Pittsburgh International Auto Show
Hundreds of cars were being spruced up, just before doors opened at the Pittsburgh Auto Show.
It's an annual tradition and this year 35 manufacturers are displaying their wares.
"We have so many beautiful cars down here this weekend, and we just want everyone to come and share [the]em " says Denise Brennan, who runs the auto show.
She knows it comes at a tough time for both consumers and the auto industry.
"The economy is tough right now. We all realize that. It's affecting every industry, across the board. Shows like this, yes, it is proven that they do help."
To spike sales, many manufacturers at the show have some very special deals, including Ford.
"We've also got auto show bonus cash -- up to $1,000 -- on Focus, on Fusion, and Escape, but we also have $500 auto show bonus cash on every Ford and Mercury product that we offer," Joe Thurby, a Ford dealer from Somerset says.
"Do you have to come to the auto show to get this bonus?," KDKA money editor Jon Delano asked him.
"Actually, no, the auto show bonus cash is available to every one through March 2nd. However, if you do come to the auto show and stop by our booth, we will give you a coupon if you take a test drive to get $50."
Many other dealers have similar come-ons -- so check it carefully.
"We have a magazine here for the auto show that we have a $500 coupon that when you come here and present the coupon at our store, you get an additional $500 on one of our North Hills Toyota Cars," says Carlos Echevarria, a North Hills Toyota dealer.
With gas prices very volatile, good mileage is another attraction. Greg Scott, a Detroit marketing manager, is here to push the Fusion hybrid.
"On this vehicle we get 41 miles per gallon in the city. That makes it the most fuel efficient midsize sedan in America," Scott says.
But if it's good mileage you want, nothing beats the scooter which is making a bit of a comeback.
"This particularly model -- about 100 miles per gallon," says Nolan Young of Genuine Scooter Company.
Even if you're not in the market to buy a new car, there's always something fun about the Pittsburgh Auto Show -- like living out your dreams of hopping into a new Jaguar and driving away.
The show runs through Sunday, February 15th.
General admission is set at $10, while seniors and military personnel can get in for $7 and kids under 12 get in for free.
